Welcome to the Wavertree Society's
VIRTUAL HERITAGE OPEN DAYS
The Wavertree Society has taken part in the national Heritage Open Days programme every year since 1994. For 26 years we have welcomed visitors to the historic Wavertree Lock-up every September - around 200 people on each occasion.
This year is, of course, different. Covid-19 restrictions have meant that, in common with many other organisations, we have suspended our programme of public events. However, we are giving even more people than usual the opportunity to explore the history and architecture of the Lock-up in the comfort of their own home.
We are also providing links to the websites of other Wavertree organisations who are providing alternatives to their usual public openings. (In past years we have co-ordinated Heritage Open Days at up to 9 separate venues in and around the Wavertree Village Conservation Area).
